A collection of music-based articles, out-of-print vinyl rips, interviews of lesser-known artists/musicians who I think are dope. Also included are previews/reviews of events in Los Angeles, music gear, documentaries and other random thoughts, ideas and sketches that help me get through the day.

Co-sign. Sad to hear that they still didn't have it together by the 2nd night. You do bring up a good point about it being the venue more than the sound guy. Either way, the promoter has to work that out!

I went to the show last night of the 22nd. Both Alice Russell & Glasper are and were amazing musically, but I could tell the sound mixer had no idea what he was doing. The microphones completely went in and out and made a horrible hiss. All the musicians constantly were complaining to turn up the levels to their instruments. I could not tell if it was the mixer's complete incompetence or the large stone walls of the room were drowning out the trebles and amplifying the bass or a combination of both. Anyways great to see these beautiful people do their thing, but hopefully at a better sounding venue some other time down the road.

Unfortunately, the "Cultural Programmer" that made a doc about artists who claim territory and surfaces as their own, had some of his property and materials claimed by those very artists & now he's fussin'. Obviously, if you made that doc, you know flamewords like 'illegally' & 'Pirating, Stealing & Trampelling' are foolish to use for an ILLEGAL ART. C'mon now. Sorry you didn't get credited, or that they couldn't pay you what you wanted, but dude is paralyzed & writing with his eyeballs, have some perspective. The film is not about you, or your doc. It's about Tempt's struggle & the miracles of science & whatever got him through. Didn't Tempt do a bunch of the work on the project anyway? Let him live, man.

Re: Pirating by producers of the Documentary"Getting Up."

Also see review on IndieWire.com: http://blogs.indiewire.com/spout/getting-up-review

Unfortunately, in the doc "Getting Up" the footage used from Bob Bryans' multi award-winning "GRAFFITI VERITE': Read the Writing on the Wall" (www.graffitiverite.com) was illegally obtained. The producers (The Ebeling Group) of "Getting Up" never received usage permission from the Producers of Graffiti Verite' (Bob Bryan, Bryan World Productions).

The Ebeling Group did themselves and their documentary a tremendous disservice by Pirating, Stealing & Trampelling upon the Intellectual Creative Rights of another filmmaker artist.

This sad illegal action by them, stands as a stain on their house, irregardless of their obviously good intentions. Shame on the Ebeling Group!

I used reaper briefly when we had the Open Labs Neko. Reaper was bundled with the Neko and we played with it for a few days. It's koo but I found it easier to install other DAW's that I was already familiar with instead of starting on a new one.
